The Forest Nursery Association of the Czech Republic

The Forest Nursery Association of the Czech Republic was founded in 1995. Membership consists of individuals and legal entities such as companies.

The Forest Nursery Association of the Czech Republic is a member of the following organisations:

• European Forest Nursery Association;
• Forestry and Wood Chamber of the Czech Republic;
• Agricultural Association of the Czech Republic;
• Nursery Association of the Czech Republic;
• Association of Establishment and Maintenance of Greenery.

A member of our Association can be an individual and a legal entity as well and active in the field of forest nursery practice or forest seed production and is a holder of the valid license to put forest reproductive material (FRM) intended for reforestation and afforestation into circulation pursuant to the law No. 149/2003 Coll. We therefore associate members with and without a forest nursery productive area.

The Forest Nursery Association of the Czech Republic has currently 75 members with forest nursery productive areas. Their production units (local plants) are 0,5 ha do 300 ha large. They manage together circa 876,2 ha (about 72 percent) of total forest seedling production area in the Czech Republic. Besides, our Association has 8 members without forest nursery productive areas and 3 honorary members. You can find the Constitution of the Association in the documents under  DOWNLOADABLE. 

Missions and aims of the association are mainly to:

• actively protect and promote the interests of its members, especially in relation to dealing with customers, state authorities and inspection authorities and other trade partners,
• participate in solving current problems in the forest nursery sector and collaborate at the formation of legal norms, its amendments and other regulations concerning the silviculture,
• cooperate with forest research institutions and universities,
• contribute to the deepening of knowledge in forestry and to the promotion of forest nursery practise and forest seed production not only in the Czech Republic, but also at the European level;
• organize information and educational actions for members in the forest nursery branch.
